of presentation with vision of 20/600.

A 30-year-old man presented to the eye clinic with a painful and inflamed right eye associated with blurring of vision that had been present for the past 3 weeks. He was otherwise healthy. Visual acuity was right eye 20/600 and left eye 20/20. Examination of the right eye demonstrated the picture seen in Figure 1.

1. This retina picture is compatible with:

a. necrotizing retinitis
b. toxocara reaction
c. von Hipple disease
d. coloboma
e. none of the above

2. Toxoplasma IgG/M serology, serum Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) of vitreous for toxoplasma DNA came back positive on blood testing, suggesting treatment with:

a. Penicillin
b. Sulfadiazine
c. Sulfadoxine and pyrimethamine (Fansidar)
d. (b) and (c)
e. none of the above

3. A retinal picture like this can occur in:
a. syphilis
b. ocular toxoplasmosis
c. acute retinal necrosis (ARN)
d. ocular tuberculosis
e. (b) and (c)
