This 35-day-old baby has had fullness of the left upper lid since birth. The mass appears to be filled with engorged vessels. The baby is otherwise healthy and had a normal delivery.

1. The most likely diagnosis is:

a. hemangioma
b. rhabdomyosarcoma
c. preseptal cellulitis
d. dermoid
e. metastatic neuroblasotoma

2. A significant concern at this time is:

a. rapid demise from a malignancy unless treatment is begun immediately
b. maintaining normal blood pressure because of concerns about hypotension
c. septicemia
d. amblyopia
e. none of the above

3. You can tell the family:
a. This is a potentially life threatening condition that requires immediate treatment.
b. This condition is likely to regress completely or nearly so after possibly getting bigger.
c. Systemic treatment could be needed.
d. No treatment is necessary.
e. (b) and (c)
