Between September 4 and September 11, 2004, an ORBIS Cyber-Sight team led by Susan Thoms, M.D. from the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Michigan established a Cyber-Sight partnership in Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia.  Other team members include Dr. Theresa Nairus from the University of Michigan, Dr. Caroline Baumal from Tufts University Medical Center, Dr. Thomas Walsh from Yale University School of Medicine, and Dr. Christopher Lyons from Vancouver, Canada.  The principal Mongolian hosts were Dr. Buyan, Dr. Chimgee, and Dr. Baasankhuu.   In addition, several other local partners were enrolled.  This program was followed up by a visit from Dr. Scott Foster of Stockton, California who worked with Dr. Buyan.  This Cyber-Sight visit promises a new opportunity for our colleagues in Mongolia to connect on a regular basis with ORBIS, Cyber-Sight mentors.
