New Cataract Module Arrives

New cataract module

ORBIS received the new VR Magic cataract module at the 2005 American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting, October 15-18, 2005 in Chicago, Illinois.  The new cataract module features capsulorhexis and phakoemulsification exercises.  These will be followed shortly by an exercise which challenges the surgeon to emulsify a nucleus as it would appear in a cataractous lens.  Later, on October 28th, Marcus Schill, Chief Executive Officer of VR Magic, Mannheim, Germany, delivered two new EYESI simulators complete with the cataract update to ORBIS headquarters at 520 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY.  These simulators were demonstrated to Dr. Lisa Park, Associate Director of Residency Training Program at New York University.  She will be employing these simulators in the residency program for the purpose of developing protocols for effective teaching using these simulators.
